Former education minister, Oby Ezekwesili, voiced concern about the latest bail conditions given to the # RevolutionNow protest convener, Omoyele Sowore.

Mr Sowore was granted N100 million bail by Federal High Court Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu in Abuja on Friday.

Ustice Ojukwu also ruled that Sowore must generate two guarantees in the same amount and deposit the sum of N50 million as protection in the court's account.

The guarantees must be resident in Abuja, she said, and have also landed property in Abuja worth the bail amount, and they are to deposit with the court the original asset title papers.

She also stopped Sowore from moving from Abuja and Olawale Bakare, his co-defendant, from leaving Osogbo during the trial.

In a Friday tweet, Mrs. Ezekwesili said she hoped that if the conditions were met, the Department of State Services (DSS) would grant the bail.

The government was also accused of repression.

“Hopefully the DSS under the supervision of the Presidency will honour this Bail and release them,” she said.

“What kind of bail of N150m is this? Is the idea to place a steep condition that @YeleSowore cannot meet? What a shame @NGRPresident. What a BIG shame to repress your citizen.”
