Bandits Abduct Three Candidates Of JAMB Shortly After Thier Exam

After writing their 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Kaduna, armed bandits terrorizing Birnin-Gwari region of Kaduna State have kidnapped three candidates.

 The bandits also killed one Ibrahim Idris, the driver of an ex-Member of the House of Representatives, Adamu Shekarau, in the attack that took place on Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road on Saturday.

While confirming the incident to The Nation on Monday, Kaduna State Police Command said a one-and-a-half-year-old was also abducted alongside the UTME candidate.

However, the Command's PPRO, ASP Muhammad Jalige said that as an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) has been deployed to the area, the police are on the bandits ' trail.
He also gave names of the UTME candidates kidnapped as: Yusuf Sani, Ummi Sani and Umairah Mustapha.

He said: "Indeed, there's been an assault on Birnin-Gwari road on Saturday. The vehicle's driver was shot to death, and abducted four other men. "The incident took place around a village known as Ungwan Yako.

"Three of the victims kidnapped are candidates who came to Kaduna to write UTME review. We were back on their way when the incident occurred.

We are; Yusuf Sani, Umairah Mustapha and Ummi Sani. The fourth person is a little, a year and a half old infant. "Criminals were engaged by police around the area and their motorcycle recovered. The criminals are still on track.

 "Apart from that, the Commissioner directed further deployment on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road and one Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was deployed specifically to man in that area. The APC is about to leave police headquarters on the spot now.
