Nigeria has reported 288 new coronavirus cases across different states across the world.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced via its official Twitter handle on Friday night that Lagos State had recorded 179 cases, Kano State had twenty cases, Katsina and Jigawa State had recorded fifteen cases each, Borno State had 13 cases, Ogun State had recorded eleven cases and the Federal Capital Territory had recorded seven cases.

The tweet further revealed that there were four cases in Niger and Ekiti State, three in Oyo, Delta and Bauchi State each, two in Kwara State and one in Edo State

As at present, 5445 people in Nigeria have tested positive for COVID-19 with 1320 discharged patients and 171 deaths reported.

According to estimates, in the last twenty-four hours more than 4,981 deaths and 96,039 new cases have been recorded worldwide, with the newest fatalities reported in the United States at 1,759, Brazil at 844 and Britain at 384.

The U.S. also has the highest overall death toll with 86,744 out of 1,429,990 cases. A minimum of 246,414 were declared recovered.

Britain has the second highest toll with 33,998 deaths from 236,711 cases. Italy is third with 31,610 deaths and 223,885 cases, France with 27,529 deaths and 178,870 infections and Spain with 27,459 fatalities and 230,183 cases.
