In a bid to equip teenage secondary school students with valuable vocational and computer skills, O.O.D. Agricultural Technology and Engineering Services is set to launch its groundbreaking initiative, "Skill Up The Teenagers 1.0". In collaboration with the Ajilete Leo Club of Ogbomoso and the Ministry of Education, Oyo State, this initiative aims to empower young minds by providing them with essential skills at no cost. The program is scheduled to kick off on Friday, February 10th, 2024 in Ogbomoso North local government of Oyo State.
Mr. Olajide, the convener and CEO of O.O.D. Agricultural Technology and Engineering Services expressed the significance of the program, highlighting its focus on promoting value sustainability, self-discovery, and aligning teenagers' mindsets in the right direction. He stated, "The Skill Up a Teenager Tech Invasion is a groundbreaking program aimed at empowering young minds and nurturing their innovative spirit. Through this initiative, we seek to introduce students to the fascinating world of technical and hands-on skills, igniting their curiosity and nurturing their innovative spirit."
Highlighting the collaborative effort, Mr. Olajide added, "A dedicated team of volunteers has been assembled to inspire and mentor the next generation of leaders in Ogbomoso and Nigeria as a whole."
The program will initially be implemented in six different schools, with a minimum of 40 students benefiting from each school. The selected schools include School of Science, Ogbomoso; Millennium Model Secondary School, Oke Owode; George Green Secondary School; Smith International Baptist Academy; Baptist Secondary Grammar School, Ahoyaya; and Ogbomoso Baptist High School. With ambitions to expand its reach to other schools before the conclusion of the current 2023/2024 academic session, the initiative aims to leave a lasting impact on the educational landscape of Ogbomoso and beyond.
